Hiked the north and south loops recently. Trails are maintained fairly well and easy to follow. They do go pointlessly up and down. It's almost like they tried to every hill they could, which is fine, but no views make the climbs rewarding. …

Everywhere we went in the park was clean and well kept. The hiking trails were some of the best kept trails we've been on in Ohio, but the informational plaques need to be cleaned. The campground was busy and the staff was super friendly. Verizon service is almost not existent in the park area.

Didn't have the opportunity to spend much time here, but did eat at the restaurant at the lodge. Didn't realize that this part of Ohio had these tiny mountains. It is a beautiful spot. Will have to come back here and spend a few days exploring.

Pretty nice state park. Our family of 4 (kids 8 and 10) hiked the Lookout Trail. The trail was like any other wooded trail but the Lookout left a lot to be desired. Other than that, I am glad we were able to stop at the Ohio State Park and stretch our legs a bit.

Shawnee is such a beautiful place to take your family, or even go alone to get away from it all. From hiking, swimming, camping, even fishing, there is a lot for you to see and do.
